Our Client Work

Case Study #1

For a clinical negligence case, I provided expertise on neonatal viral sepsis, identified the likely source of viral exposure, and provided a detailed report on the transmission of viral herpes from mother-to-infant, extra medical considerations for mother and infant, and accepted treatment pathways to reduce loss of life. Through analysis of provided documentation, I identified several check points in the critical treatment pathway that were missed, which resulted in increased patient morbidity and the loss of life. My evidence was crucial for resolution of this very difficult and emotional case.

Case Study #2

Whilst holidaying at an all-inclusive resort abroad, a Claimant succumbed to gastroenteritis. Following this acute illness, the Claimant subsequently developed a rare post-infectious sequalae called Guillain-Barre syndrome, which resulted in extensive hospitalisation and immunotherapy. Through the documents provided, I was able to ascertain the Microbiological cause of the initial gastroenteritis and the likely route of exposure of that microbe to the Claimant. My evidence was crucial to determine causality and resulted in a successful claim worth c.a. £4 million.

Case Study #3

After a Wedding reception at a UK-based hotel, 33 guests (including the Groom) succumbed to gastroenteritis. With the Wedding guests all travelling from different geographical locations, I was able to use my background knowledge and seasonal trends in microbiological gastroenteritis to determine the likely cause of gastroenteritis, and the likely exposure route for each Claimant.
